South African back Scott Spedding is set to join French Top 14 side Bayonne on a two-year contract from Brive, a club currently on the brink of relegation from France's top flight.
Sources close to the 26-year-old, who started his career with the Sharks, said on Friday he is set to finalise the move to the Basque country next week after four seasons with Brive.
Spedding is a former South Africa Under-21 fullback and could prove to be a valuable addition to Bayonne's ranks next season.
