McCafferty: Has confirmed the date for the 2013 Premiership final

The Lions will take part in a nine-match tour Australia in 2013, with the squad also set to play a one-off warm-up game against the Barbarians in Hong Kong on June 1.

And with the fixtures for the tour having now been confirmed, the umbrella organisation of the Aviva Premiership Rugby clubs has confirmed that date for the end-of-the-season finale will be held on May 25.

"Premiership Rugby is delighted to see the new schedule for the 2013 British and Irish Lions tour to Australia, and to see the Lions go from strength-to-strength," said Premiership Rugby chief executive Mark McCafferty.

"The Lions are an important part of the rugby family. We are pleased to announce that the Aviva Premiership Rugby final in 2013 is staged on Saturday 25 May, before the Lions are due to depart for Australia so the tour party can all leave together."
