Harlequins stalwart Ugo Monye has signed a new contract that will keep him with the current English Premiership log leaders until 2015.
The powerful wing first made his debut for Harlequins in 2002 and in that time he has racked up 169 caps and 73 tries for the club.
A real fan favourite, the Quins flyer has reached most major rugby milestones, having played for the England Sevens team, and gained 13 Test caps for England, and two for the British and Irish Lions.
Having joined the London club from school, Monye has played for no club other than Quins and the re-signing will mean that he will have been committed to and a loyal servant of the club for at least 13 years.
He commented: "I have so many wonderful memories here at Quins, but what I think I am most proud about is the way the club has bounced back from adversity - bloodgate and relegation; both of these negatives have seen us become stronger.
"Of course, reaching the semifinals of the Premiership in 2009 and, more recently, the win against Munster and Stade Francais in the Amlin Challenge Cup, are moments I will treasure, along with making my debut for England and the Lions," added Monye.
The speedy wing had no doubt about whether to extend his contract as the club has been such a big part of his life, and he cited the off-field atmosphere as a big factor in his decision.
"Being at Harlequins is not all about the playing; it becomes a part of your life. We are a tight-knit bunch of lads, who all love playing for each other. With so many English qualified players within the squad, we all have a common goal - playing for Quins and our country.
"I would like to say a massive thank you to all the supporters, players and coaching staff who have supported me and believed in me over the last 10 years. I am proud to be part of the history of this amazing club," said Monye.
Harlequins director of rugby, Conor O'Shea, said: "Ugo is a one club man and that is a rarity in modern day rugby, but he is also an example of what we want to have here at the club. He was frustrated to miss out on the World Cup and then to pick up the injury that has kept him out for a number of weeks after starting the season so strongly. We know in Ugo we have a player who has got an X factor, with and without the ball, that any team would want."
