All Blacks guru to mentor Cockerill?

English club Leicester Tigers could look to bring in World Cup-winning coach Graham Henry to mentor director of rugby Richard Cockerill to form a dream team.

The Tigers are the most decorated English club in the professional era, and adding Henry to their staff would only strengthen their claims to being the team to beat in England.

Cockerill hardly seems in desperate need of a mentor, with two English titles already under his belt after taking over the reins at the Tigers from South African Heyneke Meyer in 2009.

However, the former England hooker said he would welcome the opportunity to learn from a 'teacher' of Henry's pedigree.

"I've always wanted to work under an experienced head coach and to learn," Cockerill told the Daily Mail.

"Unfortunately, by circumstance with what has happened here to Heyneke I've never had the chance to work under an experienced coach.

"Perhaps, those days have gone. But if someone like Graham was available and I could use him as a sounding board and to pick his brains on things I would be a fool not to look at that.

"There’s a lot of experience there and it would be a shame if it went to waste."

Henry has had a number of offers already, but did indicate that he would like to spend about "ten weeks a year" in Europe, where his children and grandchildren live.

"I'm sure he (Henry) will have a lot of offers and it depends if he is around in the northern hemisphere," Cockerill added.
