Stade Francais EXCLUSIVE

Stade Francais is one of the most followed rugby clubs in Paris. The club is probably best known in the U.S. for their loud pink rugby jerseys. And the World Rugby Shop has an EXCLUSIVE line of Stade Francais replica rugby jerseys.

The pink rugby jerseys were adopted in 2005 by owner Max Guazzini. After taking over the club in 1992, Guazzini added three flashes of lightning to the jersey to help create more identifiable rugby jerseys. He continued to change the idea of a team rugby jersey by introducing a new jersey every year.

The pink color and rugby jersey was chosen as it was the least used color in team sports and had its own shock value in the macho world of rugby. The rugby jersey was not universally liked. In a match against Toulouse in 2006 the referee refused to allow Stade Francais to wear the jersey claiming it clashed too much with the red jerseys of the home side.
