Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth has been cleared of eye-gouging allegations and will be available for Saturday’s Test against England.

Etzebeth appeared before independent IRB-appointed Judicial Officer David Martin (Ireland) on Tuesday, having been cited for alleged contact with the eye or eye area of Scotland flyhalf Greig Laidlaw in the match between Scotland and South Africa at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Martin held that the contact in the area of Laidlaw's eyes was accidental, and as such did not constitute foul play.
