Mokuena in doubt for Griquas

Griquas have an anxious wait this week to determine the fitness of captain Jonathan Mokuena ahead of their Currie Cup clash with the Leopards in Kimberley.

In the wake of their impressive 43-22 victory over the Sharks, coach Abré Minnie has named an unchanged side for the Leopards match, although Mokuena is bracketed with returning flank Justin Downey.

Griquas team manager Human Kriek confirmed to this website that Mokuena is battling with a knee injury and will need to pass a last minute fitness test on Friday morning.

Former Sharks flank Downey will start the match if the skipper is ruled out, in which case his place on the bench will be filled by Marnus Schoeman.
