Confidence levels are high in the Wallabies camp as they target a second consecutive victory over the All Blacks and their first win on New Zealand soil in 11 years this weekend.

The Wallabies brought a ten-match losing streak against their Bledisloe Cup rivals to an end when they beat them in dramatic fashion in Hong Kong last year, and that experience coupled with the Reds' successful Super Rugby campaign has the Australians convinced that they can record their first victory in Auckland in 25 years on Saturday.

Fullback Kurtley Beale said that the composure the side showed in coming back from 12-24 down to snatch a 26-24 victory with a last-minute James O'Connor touchline conversion in Hong Kong would be invaluable as they try to shake their Eden Park bogey.

He told AAP: "You take a lot from there. Just a lot of experience at crucial times of the game you know what to do in certain situations. You don't force that extra pass; you hold on to the ball and hold on to the extra possession."

Beale, who will be fit to face the All Blacks after recovering from the twisted ankle, black eye, and injured shoulder he sustained in the Wallabies Tri-Nations opener against the Springboks, said that the Queensland Reds' Super Rugby success had also made a positive impact on the Australian squad as a whole.

"I think that definitely rubs off," he said. "There's certainly a lot of confidence with the boys, not too much cockiness but just confidence there that we know we have the ability to actually go out there and tear any team apart."

However, the dynamic outside back knows that they cannot afford to to take the All Blacks for granted and pointed out that the mental aspect of the game will be vital when the sides clash this weekend at the venue for the World Cup Final.

"It's just a matter of getting our minds right and not being carried away with ourselves," he warned.

Beale revealed that the Australian outside backs had a whale of a time running the shoestring Springboks ragged in Sydney, and he is looking forward to more good times ahead with explosive wings Digby Ioane and O'Connor as well as flyhalf Quade Cooper - a counter-attack specialist who tends to lurk at the back on defence.

"There was a lot of laughs out there and a lot of enjoyment. The boys back there playing with each other again - it's a special time and it's only the beginning," he said.

Wallabies coach Robbie Deans knows that his pack will need to do some hard work up front in order to give his dangerous backline the opportunity to shine as they did against South Africa.

He said: "We're talking about X-factor blokes here but gee, you won't even see them unless there's a huge amount of sacrifice, including from them."

The All Black forwards pushed the Springboks around in their 40-7 thumping of the South African team in Wellington, and they will be even stronger this weekend as stalwarts Kieran Read, Brad Thorn, Owen Franks and Keven Mealamu return to the fray after being given a chance to rest last week.

"There are no short cuts against a side like (New Zealand) and you have to be prepared to work for it, because if you're not then you're history," said Deans.

However, the Wallabies boss pointed out that the recent success his frontline combination have enjoyed as a unit will stand them in good stead as they take on the world's No.1 team on their home track.

"They now know they belong and they now know they can foot it at this level and it frees them up in terms of their state of mind and composure within the game to apply themselves to team priorities," he said.

Deans will name his 24-man touring group, which is expected to included fit-again scrumhalf Luke Burgess, on Tuesday.
