Springbok captain John Smit is the most capped hooker in Test history but he will be flanked by two debutants in the front row on Saturday, and loosehead prop Dean Greyling cannot wait to get stuck into Australia at scrum-time.

Greyling will make his Test debut alongside Bulls teammate Werner Kruger in Sydney this weekend and the powerful front row forward is particularly excited about the combination they have struck up with their captain.

He told the Sydney Morning Herald: "The scrum is awesome. That's part of the excitement; I'm really feeling comfortable and really slotting in good with John and Werner. We've got to back our guns. I can't wait to prove myself

''Werner I've known for a long time - me and him go way back. With John and the back five, they are really hitting us in there. I'm really excited for the weekend. I think you must always have an attacking mindset at the scrum," he added.

Greyling feels that he is in an ideal scenario to make his debut - he has the considerable experience of Smit to lean on and is also very familiar with his prop partner Kruger.

"It's a privilege playing with Werner because we work together so well and we know each other. That really helps and makes the workload easier if you know your tighthead," he said.

Kruger explained that both of them are incredibly fired up and keen to put in a big performance for their country.

"We've come here to give it our all. We're concentrating on putting out a Springbok performance to be proud of," he said. "We worked hard on our scrums in the last week. It's going to be a big challenge, and we're looking forward to it."
