The Leopards have named their side to tackle the Cheetahs in the opening weekend of the Currie Cup in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

Smaller unions such as the Leopards will need to capitalise on the heavy workload that the Super Rugby sides have had to endure already this season, as well as many of the big names away with the Springboks.

The Leopard have several of their experienced players still with them, and flyhalf Clayton Durand will be pivotal for the team once again this season.

There is also a scattering of players who have represented the Golden Lions in the Leopards ranks, with promising flank Renaldo Bothma and centre Walter Venter looking to make an impression.

Leopards: 15 George Tossel, 14 Danie Dames, 13 Joubert Engelbreght, 12 Charl Weideman, 11 Vainon Willis, 10 Clayton Durand, 9 Wesly Moolman, 8 Morne Hanekom, 7 MB Lusaseni, 6 Renaldo Bothma, 5 Ruan van Heerden, 4 Brendon Snyman, 3 Stefan Bezuidenhoud, 2 Gavin Williamson, 1 BG Uys.
Replacements: 16 Stoffel Duvenhage, 17 Berend Botha, 18 Thabo Mamojela, 19 Christo van Niekerk, 20 Theo van Wyk, 21 Walter Venter, 22 Hoffman Maritz.
