Blues coach Pat Lam has revealed most of the team to take on the Reds in their semifinal this weekend but will only make a call on who will play left wing once they arrive in Brisbane.
All Black wing Rene Ranger has been bracketed with steady goal-kicker Lachie Munro in the No.11 jersey and Lam will wait to see how both of them have responded to their respective injuries before he confirms his starting line-up.
Ranger has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for the last few weeks while Munro is still nursing some sore ribs after Phil Waugh clattered into them in their play-off at Eden Park last week.
It will be a big call for the Blues boss as the players both bring something different to the Blues' game.
The livewire Ranger has the ability to make something out of nothing, although he is also prone to making basic errors while Munro might not be as flashy out wide but he has proven himself to be far more reliable off the kicking tee than either Luke McAlister or Stephen Brett.
Lam commented: "It's a tough decision as we go through it but it's about getting through today’s training, getting over to Brisbane and then making a call tomorrow when we get over there.
"We've still got plenty of time, we've got three days before the game and it's seeing how they both come out of training today," he added.
The only other change to the starting XV for Saturday night's match at Suncorp Stadium comes at lock, with Anthony Boric's injury paving the way for loose forward Chris Lowrey to assume the locking duties.
Lam said while Boric, who has been at the heart of the Blues line-out this year, would be a huge loss to the team, he had plenty of faith that Lowrey would step up to the mark.
"He's a massive loss," Lam conceded.
"The experience, the form, just the fact that he is a lock is a big loss for us but hey we've had that all season. With all the players that we have lost we just have to move forward and I'm really confident that Chris Lowrey will do a good job as well as Ali and the other forwards," he said.
The only other lock in the Blues squad is wider training group player James King who is still overcoming a knee injury and has been bracketed on the bench with loose forward Mat Luamanu.
