Neil Briggs: Three-week suspension for punch

London Welsh hooker Neil Briggs has been suspended for three weeks for punching Harlequins wing Sam Smith.

Briggs will be free to play for the Exiles again on January 30.

The former Sale star was reported by independent citing officer John Byett for punching Smith during last Sunday's Aviva Premiership game at the Kassam Stadium.

The case was heard by a three-man RFU panel under the chairmanship of Jeremy Summers at a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday night.
