Sale sit rock-bottom of the Aviva Premiership table, five points behind closest rivals London Irish, and are currently favourites to follow in the footsteps of fellow northern clubs Newcastle and Leeds by being relegated to the Championship.
The Warriors, in contrast, have amassed 24 points from their opening 11 games to sit comfortably in ninth place and are unbeaten at Sixways since the opening day of the campaign in all competitions.
Hill is confident his side can build on their success from this year and wants to turn his attention to how far they can climb up the table and away from a relegation battle.
"Three or four games ago I think we dispelled any thoughts about worrying about relegation," Hill told the club's official website.
"We have turned our attention to getting into the top six. We knew this seven-match run - that started against Saracens and finishes with Leicester - would dictate whether we could get into the quarter-finals of the Amlin Challenge Cup and the top six of the Aviva Premiership.
"With wins over Saracens and London Welsh, and a losing bonus point away at Quins, it is a realistic option. But we have two huge games to go to really push home the advantage.
"If we can beat Sale and maintain our excellent home record against Leicester then we will be serious contenders."
However, Sale captain Dave Seymour remains confident the Sharks can turn their season around with a momentum-changing win against Worcester on their home turf.
Seymour, who has been at the club since 2009, believes two or three wins in quick succession will transform the season, and has called on the club's senior players to step up to the task, starting against the Warriors.
"Everyone is aware of the challenges ahead," Seymour told premiershiprugby.com.
"You look to your senior guys to help get you through. We're lucky - people like Mark Cueto, Dwayne Peel and Nick Macleod.
"We're quite lucky there, with people like Andy Powell, who are still young but with loads of experience which is great.
"There are a number of guys who got through it last year and are part of the rebuilding process and the guys who have been here for four or five years - 10, in the terms of Cuets (Cueto).
"They're the guys that have experienced that and are Sale Sharks through and through. Everyone needs to step up really and give 100 per cent - we're the senior guys to rely on."
Sale were beaten 25-18 by Wasps in their last match which came on the back of a humiliating 62-0 thrashing by Toulon in the Heineken Cup.
Danny Cipriani, who was dropped for the trip to Adams Park following the demolition in the south of France, could be set to return as Sale search for a vital league win, due to an injury worry over Macleod who replaced him against Wasps.
