Sackey: Opted to wear Stade Francais socks

The former London Irish and Wasps ace is a free agent after he was unceremoniously dumped by Toulon at the end of the season, halfway through a two-year deal with the Top 14 outfit.

The 31-year-old, who scored six times in 20 appearances for Toulon, has been linked to moves to a number of clubs, including Bath and Wasps.

However having indicated he was keen to remain in France, Sackey, who played for England in the 2007 World Cup final, could be set to team up with former team-mates James Haskell and Tom Palmer in Paris.

Sackey has remained coy about his next move, but he gave a clear hint of his next move by wearing a Stade Francais sock while playing for the Barbarians against England on Sunday.

Barbarian players are traditionally invited to wear their club socks, so the fact Sackey chose to put on one of the pink socks of the Parisians would indicate he has a deal in place.
