Farrell: Great season for Sarries

Fly-half Owen Farrell has signed senior terms after an impressive breakthrough season, which he started on loan at Bedford and will end in the Premiership final.

"I have been given fantastic opportunities this season and I have enjoyed the new responsibility," Farrell said.

"I am very happy to commit my future to a club that matches my ambition. When I think about what this group can achieve together, well, it's really exciting and special."

Derick Hougaard will compete with Farrell and new arrival Charlie Hodgson for the fly-half jersey after signing a contract extension.

Saracens have also tied down Mouritz Botha, who is in line for an England Saxons call-up, Hugh Vyvyan, Justin Melck, James Short, Jamie George, Hayden Smith, Jackson Wray and Chris Wyles.
