As it prepares for the USA Rugby College 7s Championships at the end of month, No. 2 California (22-3) has also accepted an invitation to compete at the 2013 College Rugby Championship 7s, airing nationally on NBC from Philadelphia in June of 2013.

It will be the Golden Bears' fourth straight trip to the CRC 7s, where Cal advanced to the final in 2010 and quarterfinals in 2011, and earned a bronze medal in 2012. The field of the 2013 CRC 7s features 20 teams from established programs with local, regional and national appeal.

Winner of the PAC Sevens in November, Cal will be joined at the 2013 CRC 7s by PAC Sevens semifinalist UCLA and two other conference champions in Virginia Tech from the Atlantic Coast and Wisconsin from the Big 10.

Also coming from the PAC Rugby Conference is Arizona, which will be back in Philly along with four-time CRC 7s returnees Notre Dame, Penn State, Army and Navy.

Defending champion Dartmouth College will be joined by Ivy League competitor Pennsylvania. Other teams coming from the Keystone State are Temple, St. Joseph's and Kutztown University.

The field is rounded out by Texas, Florida, North Carolina State, Delaware and 2012 CRC 7s semifinalist Life. The final participating team will be decided at the Las Vegas Invitational in February.

The Bears are 13-3 (.812) all-time at the CRC 7s and 35-9 overall (.795) in their young 7s history.
