Dartmouth Rugby had a strong showing last week when the USA Rugby Men’s National College Academic Honor Roll was released, as five 1st XV players were named to the list: Lock Nate Brakeley ’12, wing Chris Downer ’11, wing Victor Galson ’11, wing Clark Judge ’12, and center Will Lehmann ’12. That number gave Dartmouth the most selections of any university in the country.

This is the first year of the honor roll, an initiative from USA Rugby’s College Department designed to highlight players who display excellence both on the field and in the classroom. In order to qualify for selection, those chosen had to have a 3.70 or above cumulative GPA along with being a First XV player. Only players in their junior year or above were eligible for selection. Overall, 39 players were named to the list.

“The inclusion of so many Dartmouth players is a tremendous personal achievement for those selected,” said Coach Alexander Magleby ’00, “and just shows you how hard and deliberate Dartmouth student-athletes work.”
