Tigers will become the first club in Premiership history to register five successive bonus-point victories by achieving a maximum haul at Franklin's Gardens on Saturday (kick-off 2.15pm).
The possibility underlines imperious post-World Cup form that has seen them suffer just one league defeat since the tournament ended last October.
Leicester are currently third in the table, four points and one place above Saints, with Saturday's latest east midlands derby arriving just four weeks after Tigers beat Northampton to lift the LV= Cup and secure automatic Heineken Cup qualification next term.
The game, though, was also notable for Saints forward Calum Clark being cited for foul play on Leicester hooker Rob Hawkins, which subsequently saw him collect a 32-week ban.
"It's a big game," Saints rugby director Jim Mallinder said. "Obviously, Leicester are our local rivals, but we know that we've got three games to go in the regular season and we want to win all three to give us a chance of a home semi-final.
"We have not been talking about what has gone before. We've trained hard and prepared for what is going to come at us on Saturday.
"Leicester are physical up front and love the set-piece, but they like to play a bit too and get on the front foot."
England scrum-half Lee Dickson captains a Saints team that will look to consolidate its place in the play-offs by toppling Tigers. Dickson's Test colleagues Ben Foden, Chris Ashton and Phil Dowson also start, with Ryan Lamb featuring at fly-half.
Ben Youngs returns from a one-week suspension to take his place in the Tigers team alongside familiar half-back partner Toby Flood. Other changes from the side that crushed Worcester last time out see starts for Horacio Agulla, George Skivington and Geoff Parling.
If Northampton slip up - and they have only lost once at home in the Premiership this season - then Exeter could overtake them by beating Worcester at Sixways.
That would then set the scene for a crunch clash between the Chiefs and Saints in Devon on Sunday week.
