Du Plessis: Impressive World Cup performance

Du Plessis was a shining light in Namibia's World Cup campaign and picked up the man-of-the-match award in their Pool D defeat against South Africa.

"I am excited about the challenge and if it is the Lord's will I will end my playing career at Wasps," he told Die Republikein.

"It is every guy's dream to play at a high level. Believe me, I'm going to grab the opportunity with both hands to play with players like Marco Wentzel and other players with international experience.

"It's a privilege to move and carry on your career in such company."

Du Plessis won't join up with the Aviva Premiership outfit until his work permit is cleared.

Wasps have been desperately short in the back row following the retirement of Dan Ward-Smith, Joe Worsley and the long-term injury to Tom Rees.
