Redpath: Made eight changes

The Cherry and Whites, who are defending their title, were edged 13-11 by the Sharks in the Premiership last weekend, and Tom Savage, Will James, Brett Deacon, Luke Narraway, Henry Trinder, Charlie Sharples and Jonny May are the men who retain their places.

Dan Murphy, Matias Cortese and Dario Chistolini make up a new-look front row, while the experienced James Simpson-Daniel and Lesley Vainikolo also start.

Sale have also opted to change half their side and hand centre Luther Burrell a competitive debut.

Scotland internationals Richie Vernon and Alasdair Dickinson are also handed first starts, while Tony Buckley and Johnny Leota wait on the bench to take their bows.

Sharks' Executive Director of Sport Steve Diamond said: "We have selected our strongest possible side but it will be a different challenge from last weekend, as there will be 13,000 people, including the Shed, screaming for Gloucester."
