Roberts has come under the spotlight after electing to leave Cardiff Blues.
The centre, who will win his 45th Wales cap against the Pumas, turned 26 on Thursday, the same day as his decision to leave the Blues at the end of the season was announced. He is tipped to join French club Racing Metro.
Confirmation of Roberts' impending exit has caused a stir in the principality, with the player drain of top Welsh talent to big-spending French clubs seemingly set to continue.
Of the squad for the autumn international series, Mike Phillips, James Hook, Luke Charteris and Gethin Jenkins already ply their trade across the Channel.
A move to France could also create issues over Roberts' release for international duty, but Edwards sees a player whose only focus is delivering a typically powerful midfield performance against the Pumas.
"He is very focused," said Edwards. "I don't know when he decided not to sign but obviously it has come out publicly over the past week or so.
"But players of that stature are used to people talking about them in the newspapers.
"He has been a British Lion, he has been a player of the series for the British Lions, so he is used to the attention and I am sure he will want to go out there and play his best for Wales on Saturday, I know he does."
Wales have to go back 10 years for the last time they started an autumn series with a win - a 40-9 victory over Romania in Wrexham.
But Edwards feels Wales are the best prepared they have ever been for the November Test window after holding a pre-series training camp in Poland, a move which served them so well prior to the 2011 World Cup and the 2012 Six Nations.
Edwards said: "What is important is we prepared well. We went to Poland and I feel more prepared for this series in the autumn than I have ever done before, even with injuries we have sustained to Adam Jones, Dan Lydiate, Jonathan Davies and Ryan Jones.
"I still feel the team's understanding of what the coaches want from them is higher now because of that time in Poland.
"We have been quite hurried before because we have sometimes only had a week together but obviously that time in Poland will hopefully be vital on Saturday."
