Howley, Wales' interim head coach while Warren Gatland concentrates on British and Irish Lions business prior to heading up next summer's tour Down Under, is in charge against Argentina on Saturday and then Samoa six days later.
Gatland returns to spearhead Welsh preparations against New Zealand and Australia, before Howley regains the hot seat for Wales' Six Nations title defence later this season.
"Rob is an outstanding coach - one of the best about," said Wales skills coaching specialist Jenkins.
"He just takes it all in his stride. He enjoys being in this set-up, and we are quite lucky to have him.
"All of us in the coaching team are doing a little bit more, but we work pretty closely together, we are always talking to each other and we are pretty organised. We just get on with it."
Jenkins, meanwhile, has no doubt what to expect from Argentina this weekend, but he also feels they will have benefited considerably from their debut Rugby Championship campaign that saw the Pumas play New Zealand, Australia and South Africa home and away.
"Argentina are an uncompromising side," he added. "Considering this year was their first in the Rugby Championship, then barring the All Blacks game, they did pretty well. They probably should have won in Australia, and South Africa at home was a tight call.
"We know what Argentina are all about. They play a certain brand of rugby, and it is a tough brand to play against.
"They play to their strengths, which is the set-piece, but if they do get a sniff then they can certainly play as well."
Jenkins, though, hopes that Wales can give the Pumas plenty to think about in terms of a wide attacking game, especially with in-form wings George North and Alex Cuthbert being part of their armoury.
"They are two outstanding players who are playing exceptionally well," he said.
"We would like to get them into the game as much as we possibly can on Saturday and try to cause Argentina some problems.
"I am sure Argentina will be reasonably concerned with those two, and we have got a pretty good full-back as well in Leigh Halfpenny."
