The Women’s Eagles lost to England 15-11 on the final play of the match on Tuesday while Canada easily defeated South Africa, 52-17. The Eagles held the lead against 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup runners-up England until the 86th minute when the English fought their way to the try line and touched down for the win.
The last time Canada and the USA met was in the 5th place game at the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The Women’s Eagles won in thrilling fashion in that game and were 23-20 victors and claimed the #5 spot in the world due to that win.
