After witnessing some fairly exuberant Australian celebrations in recent times the All Blacks are determined to silence the Wallabies when the two sides square off in Auckland this weekend.

The Wallabies broke a ten-match losing streak against New Zealand when the two sides met in Hong Kong last year - a remarkable comeback win which sparked wild celebrations - and the All Blacks are keen to set the record straight at Eden Park on Saturday.

The Crusaders players in the All Black set-up then experienced something similar when the Reds clinched the Super Rugby title in Brisbane this year, and front row forward Ben Franks admitted that the way Australians celebrate victories makes it even sweeter when they are beaten.

"You never want to lose to Australia because they definitely want to let you know about it," Franks said. "You know, you just need to watch the games and how they like to act and stuff after a win. So you don't really want to let them win."

Franks explained that this weekend also represents a prime opportunity to avenge the Crusaders' Super Rugby defeat to the Reds, as players from both franchises are bound to litter the two line-ups this weekend.

"It wasn't the way we [the Crusaders] wanted to finish our season and a lot of those guys [Reds players] are going to be in that team so it would be nice to be able to get a good win against them," he said.

However, smug Australians and Super Rugby heartbreak aside, Franks added that there is always more than enough motivation when you are asked to represent your country at the highest level - no matter who you are playing against.

"It is such a challenge to be able to get that jersey each week so when you get the opportunity to play it doesn't matter who the opposition is, who they've put out there, you really want to take it so whoever gets to go out there this coming weekend will be pretty pumped because there a lot of stuff on the line," he said.

All Blacks coach Graham Henry knows that both sides have got plenty of firepower, and explained that the key for his team this week will be the way they approach the challenge.

"They are a very good side with some outstanding individual players and I think we've got to be on our game," he said. "We have to be bright in what we do, so it's going to be a big week in trying to get the right game plan to play Australia."

The All Black boss was not keen to get caught up in the hype of the world's two top ranked teams going head-to-head and instead reiterated that his side will have to box clever at Eden Park this weekend if they want to make it two wins from two home games in the Tri-Nations.

"I don’t think it has any greater magnitude than many of the Test matches we have played before. We've got to be on our game. We've got to be bright in what we do and so it'll be a big week to get the right game plan together," he said.
