The Irish are targeting a third successive victory over the Pumas when the rivals clash in the climax to the Guinness Series at Aviva Stadium on Saturday.
This year for the first time Argentina have competed in an annual tournament after appearing in the successor to the Tri-Nations and Kiss recognises the advantages that has brought.
"They're a team you must have a massive amount of respect for. It will be a physical affair," he said.
"They beat Wales well two weeks ago and have benefited from playing in the Rugby Championship.
"You can't afford to disregard what they've learned from being involved in it.
"I've loved the two Tests we've played against them since I've been involved with Ireland - they were physical and in the trenches.
"We will have to front up again and if it comes down to trench warfare then they're as good as anyone. We rate ourselves in that area too.
"The crowd love those affairs sometimes and I believe it will be a real battle.
"There will be some tight exchanges that will give an edge to the game."
