Brian O’Driscoll is considered by many to be one of the best rugby centers of all time and it was on this day in rugby history in 1979 that the Irishman was born in Dublin.  He has been nominated for the IRB World Player of the Year three times.

O’Driscoll won his first cap for Ireland on June 12, 1999 at the age of 20 and quickly established himself as a regular.  His career culminated in 2006 when he led Ireland to win the Triple Crown, Six Nations Championship and their first Grand Slam in 61 years.

The center has such respect that fans have shirts ‘In BOD We Trust’ and owns all the Irish records from most caps, to most tries as well as the honor of most Six Nations tries for any team.

He has represented Ireland at the last 3 Rugby World Cups as well as touring with the British and Irish Lions three times.

On the club side, O’Driscoll has represented only one team, Leinster Rugby Football Club. Since joining the club in 1999, he has helped the team to several domestic titles and two Heineken Cup titles.
