The USA Eagles men’s sevens side closed out the year with a run to the Bowl semifinals at the Cell C Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens but could not win any silverware from the last tournament on the 2013 7’s tour.

England put the final nail in the coffin with their 33-14 win over the Eagles in the Bowl semifinal.

Carlin Isles led the way for the Stars and Stripes scoring 6 tries on the weekend.

The U.S. only managed 1 win on the weekend.  The U.S. defeated Spain 19-14 in the bowl quarterfinal.

The U.S. failed to win in the group stage.  They lost their opener to Wales 26-10, were no match for New Zealand dropping the game 43-7, and showed some signs of an attack but fell short 33-17 to Portugal.

The Eagles return home to continue training at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California preparing for the next stop of the tour on home soil at Las Vegas Sevens on January 24-26, 2014.
